Congratulations to Lisa Sandell!

The Sandell lab has been awarded an R01 grant to study therapeutic vascularization in the context of salivary gland repair.

For healing damaged salivary glands, or any other wounded organ, a key roadblock for regeneration is the need for adequate re-growth of blood vessels to support new tissue.

Funded work in the Sandell lab will study mice to explore the use of retinoid drugs and cell therapies to stimulate growth of blood vessels for repair of damaged salivary glands.
