Application Process

Application for admission is completed through the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) and look on "related links" in the right column to learn more about "How to Apply to Dental School".

Application packets may be submitted online as early as June 1, but no later than January 1 and should be directed to:

1400 K Street, NW, Suite 1100
Washington, DC 20005
Tel: 202-289-7201 or 1-800-353-2237
Fax: 202-289-7204
Apply online

Preference is given to qualified applicants who apply early. Therefore, applying early is strongly encouraged.

The Committee on Admissions will require the following materials to consider applications complete and ready for committee review.

Submit to AADSAS:

  • Pre-dental committee report or university pre-professional evaluation. If that is unavailable, three letters of recommendation (2 from science professors and a third from a personal reference).
  • Official DAT scores sent electronically from the American Dental Association to AADSAS . Do not delay processing an application because you have not taken the DAT. DAT reports can be matched to your application later.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please submit letters electronically to AADSAS. Due to paperless processing, sending paper letters to ULSD will delay the processing of your application.

Please do NOT fax or mail  DAT scores.  ONLY official scores from AADSAS fulfill the DAT requirement

Submit to ULSD upon request:

  • Application fee ($65.00 payable  online with MasterCard or Visa) -Do not send this until you receive an email request for payment
  • ATTENTION: Please DO NOT send our office a check. The link to pay will be in the Fee Request Email, sent after AADSAS has verified your application.

After your file is complete (all request credentials are received), it will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted by email regarding interview date and time.
