Thrive Online Book Club

Fall 2023 Semester

During the fall semester, we will be discussing Thrive Online – A New Approach to Building Expertise and Confidence as an Online Educator, by Shannon Riggs. Research shows that online education, when designed and facilitated well, is as effective as traditional campus-based instruction.

We invite our participants to purchase the Thrive Online book, though please note that it is optional. Your participation in discussion and camaraderie are important to us so you are welcome to attend these sessions if you prefer not to purchase the book. We’ll begin each meeting with very brief summary of the reading and then quickly move into conversation.

Meeting Dates

Participants will meet through Microsoft Teams four times over the fall semester. There is no requirement to attend each session. There’s always room for new voices in our group. Participants are encouraged to invite a friend to join a session, even if they haven’t had the opportunity to read the book.
