As digital natives, UofL students are constantly plugged in to their ubiquitous smart phones and other digital devices. You may be wondering how you can leverage these tools, especially mobile apps, to promote student learning and engagement.

Join us for informal conversation about how mobile apps can be used to change the way we reach and teach our students.

See what your faculty colleagues are doing with mobile apps both in and outside of the classroom, and be prepared to share your favorite iOS or Android educational app. Sparkling beverages and appetizers provided.

Facilitator Bios

Eddy Arnold is a technology specialist at the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning. In this role, he provides training and consultation to faculty, staff and administrators on emerging technology, manages technology projects, and provide internal technology support. He combines 15 years of technology experience with time spent in the U.S. Navy and his travels to 23 countries to bring a unique point of view to the use of emerging technologies in the classroom and in life. Eddy is also an entrepreneur who provides technical expertise to small businesses and residential customers.

Beth Case is program manager for digital, emerging, and assistive technologies at the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning. She has two master’s degrees, one in clinical psychology and one in instructional technology. She is also completing her dissertation for a doctoral degree in instructional technology. Prior to returning to graduate school, Beth worked in postsecondary disability services for 13 years. Her background in both disability services and instructional technology has prepared her for helping faculty make online courses accessible to students with disabilities. She stays on top of emerging trends in using technology in education and enjoys sharing that knowledge with others.
