Director

Planning, developing and directing the administrative, technical, financial and personnel activities of the University's Environmental Health and Safety Department


Assistant Director

Assist the Director in the management of the department and serves as the Emergency Manager for the University.


Unit Business Manager

Management and coordination of DEHS administrative and financial affairs. These matter include but are not limited to financial reporting, budget preparation, payroll, personnel transactions, purchasing, budget preparation, accounts receivable, accounts payables, OSHA reporting, program coordination, and clerical/secretarial unit support.


Administrative Assistant

Administrative and operational support to department Director and unit managers; maintain office functions such as asbestos abatement billing, purchasing functions, OSHA records management, Director's Roundtable event coordinator and clerical/secretarial unit support.


Administrative Assistant (Biological Safety)

Provide administrative and operational support to the Biological Safety Officer, Institutional Biosafety Committee and unit managers; maintain office functions such as payroll, procurement, departmental travel, fleet management and clerical/secretarial unit support.


Biological Safety Officer

Biosafety Program Management, Institutional Biosafety Committee Administrator, Biohazard Use Registration and Authorization, Risk Assessment, Containment System Evaluation, Laboratory Inspections, Biosafety Training.


Biological Safety Specialist

Biohazard Use Registration and Authorization, Risk Assessment, Containment System Evaluation, Laboratory Inspections, and Biosafety Training, Bloodborne Pathogens Program.


Environmental Operations Manager

Hazardous waste, infectious waste and universal waste programs management, wastewater discharge, air emission programs, spill prevention and emergency response programs, environmental issues regarding property acquisition and construction.


Hazardous Waste Coordinator

Hazardous waste, infectious waste and universal waste programs management, operate the University's Part B Environmental Protection Services Center, hazardous waste training and emergency response.


Environmental Specialist

Management of environmental compliance issues relating to air pollution control/permitting, spill planning and response, storm water management, aboveground and underground storage tanks, emergency response, site investigation/remediation, and wastewater management.


Hazardous Material Technician Sr.

Collect, assess, segregate, and transport hazardous waste, work in the University's Part B Environmental Protection Services Center and emergency response.


Emergency Planner

Building Emergency Actions Plans (BEAPs) and their annual review, assist in strategic emergency planning, testing and evaluating plans, implementing plans during any major emergency and maintaining email distribution lists for all Building Emergency Coordinators (BECs) and their alternates.


Industrial Hygiene Manager

Asbestos Program Management, EHS Construction/Renovation Coordination, Fume Hood Testing Program, Indoor Air Quality Investigation, Workplace Hazard Assessment


Industrial Hygiene Specialist

Hazard Communication Program, Hearing Conservation Program, Respiratory Protection Program, Personal Protective Equipment Guidance


Laboratory Safety Coordinator

Chemical Safety Review of Grant Proposals, Laboratory Chemical Safety, Chemical Hygiene Plan, Laboratory Hazard Assessment, Personal Protective Equipment Guidance


Asbestos Abatement Specialist

Asbestos Abatement, Abatement Contractor Oversight, Lead Based Paint Inspection/Supervision


Administrative Assistant (Occup. Health and Safety)

Provide administrative and operational support to the Industrial Hygiene Manager and Occupational Health and Safety Programs including but not limited to; Asbestos Management, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, and Personal Protective Equipment.


Radiation Safety Officer

Responsible for and oversees the safe use of radiation and radioactive material on all University of Louisville campuses, the University Hospital, and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center.


Assistant Radiation Safety Officer

Provide administrative and operational support to the Radiation Safety Officer, Radiation Safety Committee and unit managers.


Health Physicist Technologist Sr.

Collect, assess, and transport radioactive material on all University of Louisville campuses, the University Hospital, and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center.


Health Physicist Technologist

Provide operational support to the Senior Health Physicist Technologist.


Administrative Assistant (Radiation Safety)

Provide administrative and operational support to the Radiation Safety Officer and staff including film badge distribution and billing, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, unit travel and clerical/secretarial support.


Emergency Manager

Responsible for handling general emergency management issues. These may include, but are not limited to; campus emergency notification, building emergency plans, and hazardous material emergencies.


Health Sciences Campus Emergency Coordinator

Responsible for emergency management and building plans for the Health Sciences Campus.


Senior Project Manager

Responsible for project management and business continuity for various emergency situations.


Fire Marshall

Responsible for fire safety and code enforcement on the University of Louisville Campuses.
