US Army Medical Research & Materiel Command (USAMRMC) Grant Applications
Instructions for obtaining a Certificate of Environmental Compliance (CEC)
USAMRMC requires all Principal Investigators (PI's) applying for grant funding to be in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. The Director of the U of L Department of Environmental Health and Safety (DEHS) is the official signatory of the CEC.
Prior to issuance of a signed CEC, the Director requires the timely submission of the following documents/forms (completed and signed):
- An abstract of the proposal
- The UofL Principal Investigator Hazardous Material Approval Assurance (Word)
- The DOD Principal Investigator Safety Program Assurance (Word)
Electronic submission is encouraged, but paper copies or fax submission (502-852-0880) is also accepted.
DEHS staff reviews these 3 documents as well as the PI's compliance with applicable federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations. If all is in order, the CEC form is signed by the Director and returned to the PI for submission with the grant application.
If the grant is funded by USAMRMC, the PI must assist DEHS in preparing an annual update to the U of L Facility Safety Plan. DEHS staff will forward a Facility Safety Plan Status Report Form, to be completed by the PI and returned to DEHS.
