Proposal Submission

The University of Louisville’s National Black Family Conference is a premier conference of its kind; with its focus on addressing the rich African American history as well as the, past and present, struggles and implications for the present and future. Named in honor of Dr. Joseph H. McMillian, the founder of the conference and UofL administrator for over 30 years, the event will be held February 26-27, 2016 in Louisville, Kentucky.

We seek submissions and proposals to guide 60-75 minute concurrent sessions at the upcoming 2015 Conference. We are particularly interested in rigorous academic papers centering on socio-political events, legislation, and movements, etc., occurring in 1965 and how they have influenced the black human condition over the following 50 years. Sessions should promote discussion of best practices and future prospects for research, teaching, policy and programming. Each session should discuss inclusive practices and support systems for the Black Global Family as we move deeper into the 21st Century.

Deadline to submit your proposal: November 20, 2015.
