Josh McKee, Assistant Director of Career Engagement

Josh McKee, an Assistant Director of Career Engagement in the Career Development Center won the New Professional of the Year Award at the 2018 Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) Annual Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Josh was recognized for his dedication to the fields of higher education and student affairs. Each year, nominations are solicited for the award from around the region.

The New Professional Award recognizes a new professional who has provided exemplary service to SACSA. Criteria are as follows:
  • No more than five years of full-time experience in student affairs.
  • Current membership for at least one full year and active involvement in SACSA.
  • Demonstrated service to the profession (e.g., presented a paper, workshop, conducted research, demonstrated leadership) and promise shown for becoming a leader in the field.
  • Attended at least two SACSA affiliated professional development conference, workshops, or activities.
  • Possess outstanding character and potential role model stature for other new professionals.
Josh has worked at the University of Louisville for nearly 5 years, having previously worked in the Office of Admissions before joining the staff in the Career Development Center. Josh holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, a MED in Counselor Education (Student Affairs) from Clemson University, and is finishing his dissertation for a PHD in Counseling and Personnel Services (College Student Personnel) from the University of Louisville.
