General Information for Campus-Based Loans

The main focus and goal of the information on our pages is providing concise information to help you, the student loan borrower and the potential student loan borrower, understand and manage your student loans.

Federal regulations governing student loans are reviewed frequently and most reviews produce new requirements and provisions. Due to an assortment of factors, including federal changes and fund stipulations, borrowers often end up with multiple loan funds to manage. This can sometimes be quite a challenge for borrowers. We, the UofL Student Loan Management Section staff, are not here just to collect your campus-based (Federal Perkins, Health Professions) student loans, we're also here to help you manage your entire student loan portfolio as efficiently as possible. Through efficient management, you build a good credit rating for yourself and your timely payments return dollars to the revolving student loan fund pool, allowing new students to receive funding for education. It's a win/win situation when borrowers pay and it's our desire to facilitate this situation wherever possible.

So, please browse our pages. There's a lot of information available here, but, if you don't find the answer to your question, please contact us by phone, by postal mail, by email, or by a visit to our office. We want to help! And, if you have suggestions on how to improve our web site, please let us know. Communication is the name of the game!
