Minutes of the April 6, 2010 meeting of the College of Arts and Sciences Curriculum Committee

The minutes of the meeting of March 2 were approved as distributed.


The addition of a perquisite limiting enrollment in HIST 304:  Historical Methods to majors or minors in history was approved.


The committee approved the acceptance of  credit for International Baccalaureate Standard Level examinations, with a minimum score of 5, contingent on the recommendation of the department granting course credit for the examination.   A recommendation from the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences to grant 3 hours of credit, with an equivalency of PSYC 201, for a score of 5 or higher on  the Standard Level examination in Psychology was approved.

The following course actions were approved, effective Summer  2011:

  • PSYC 414:  Seminar in Psychology (new course; WR credit)
  • SOC 617:  Program Evaluation (new course)
  • SOC 619:  Fundamental Assumptions of Sociology (new course)
  • SOC 625:  Social Policy (new course)
  • SOC 720:  Contemporary Theory (new course)
