Curriculum Committee Minutes

November 13, 2007

The minutes of the meeting of November 6, 2007, were approved as distributed.

 

The following courses were approved, effective Summer 2008.

ARTH 290: Survey of Asian Art (new course; GenEd: A and CD2) (the department will submit a revised syllabus prior to the course’s submission to the GECC)

ANTH 336: War and Society (new course; upper division WR credit)

BIOL 301: Intro to Ecology (title/description/number change to BIOL 401)

BIOL 302: Intro to Ecology Lab (title/description/number change to BIOL 402)

BIOL 388: Biology Honors Seminar (new course)

HUM 363: Special Topics (new course; upper division WR credit)

HUM 505: Humanities Study Abroad (new course)

 

The committee approved the proposal for a M.S. in Applied Geography. Approval of the program included approval of the following new courses:

GEOG 600: History and Philosophy of Geography

GEOG 640: Approaches and Methods in Applied Geography

GEOG 641: Research Design

GEOG 656: Advanced Quantitative Methods

GEOG 660: Qualitative Methods

 

Action was deferred on the proposal for a minor in Asian Studies, pending further discussion on language courses in the proposal.
