The minutes of the meetings of February 9 and March 9, 2007, were approved as distributed.

A student petition for an exception to the requirements for graduation with honors was denied.

Ms. Sawyer explained a proposal to add the PLAN exam (pre-ACT) to the credentials which may be used in admitting high school visitors. As all students in Kentucky are now taking the PLAN exam in their sophomore year, Admissions proposed accepting a PLAN score of 19 or greater for admission as a high school visitor. The current guidelines call for an ACT score of 22 and the PLAN score of 19 is based on the expectation of a 3-point improvement in scores between the 10 th and 12 th grades. The proposal was approved.

A proposal to substitute BIOL 363 for the current requirement of BIOL 301 and 302 in the minor in Biology was approved. With this change, the core hours in the Biology minor will be 19, and 2 hours of elective will be required to maintain the 21 hour requirement for the minor.

A proposal to remove the requirement for 3-hours of statistics or logic in the BA and BS in Chemistry was deferred until a departmental representative could be present.

A proposal to add Modern/Contemporary and Asian/Non-Western to the required areas in Art History (major and minor) was approved, pending clarification of catalog copy of applicable courses and whether or not there could be overlap between the areas (between thematic and chronological organization).

ART 517: Directed Study in Drawing was changed to ART 507, effective Summer 08.
