The minutes of the meeting of October 20 were approved as distributed.

Associate Dean Dietrich discussed the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) with the committee.

All course/program approvals are effective Summer 2007, unless otherwise noted.

The committee approved the proposal for CD1 general education credit for COMM 325: Communicating Hip-Hop Culture. The proposal will be forwarded to the General Education Curriculum Committee.

The committee approved the proposal for CD1 credit for JA 523: Race and Gender Issues in Criminal Justice. The proposal will be forwarded to the General Education Curriculum Committee upon receipt of revisions as specified to the departmental representative.

Changes were approved to the minor in Foreign Literature.

Changes were approved to the minors in Theatre Arts and African American Theatre.

The committee made suggestions about the proposed minor in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies and returned it to the steering committee for possible revision.
