COMM 175: Introduction to Debate was approved as a new course effective Summer 2006. It was also approved for the General Education Oral Communication area and will be forwarded to the University General Education Committee for review.

The Committee discussed the proposals from the Advising Center for GEN 100: Strategies for Success and GEN 201: A&S Majors and Careers. While supportive of the services delivered in the courses, the committee considered them primarily non-curricular in nature and questioned having them as credit-bearing, graded courses. GEN 201 was not approved, and action was deferred on GEN 100, pending receipt of additional information.
