Course Details

Course taught in English. No prerequisites. The Kentucky Real Estate Commission has an education requirement for taking the sales license exam. Taking two real-estate courses help you meet the education requirement.

Course Description

The Department of Urban and Public Affairs will offer undergraduate real estate courses for the first time in Spring 2023! PLAN380 is intended to give students an overview of real estate development and finance, with emphasis on applications to real estate development. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to (1) Identify and describe the processes of real estate development including land acquisition, development administration, and the management of completed projects. (2) Demonstrate an understanding of the perspectives of both public and private sectors in the process of real estate development. (3) Demonstrate an understanding of value analysis, appraisal, property development, special economics, real estate finance, and law and brokerage as they relate to real estate development.
