Congratulations to Dr. Leila Gobejishvili

Dr. Leila Gobejishvili has been named Vice Chair of the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on cyclic nucleotide phospohdiesterases (PDEs) for 2024.

Congratulations to Dr. Leila Gobejishvili on being named Vice Chair of the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on cyclic nucleotide phospohdiesterases (PDEs) for 2024.  GRCs are named after Professor Neil E. Gordon, who organized the first conference at Johns Hopkins University in the summer of 1931. He wanted to bring together scientists working at the frontier of a specific area of research to present and discuss the recent advances and to stimulate new directions in their specific research field. GRC continues this tradition with organizing over 395 GRCs and Gordon Research Seminars (GRSs) per year.  Dr. Gobejishvili attended her first GRC meeting on cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs) in 2010, where she presented her work on the effect of S-Adenosylmethionine (SAM) mediated downregulation of PDE4B expression in monocytes. This work was later published in Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.  This year, she was invited as a mentor speaker at a GRS as well as a speaker at the GRC.
