Amanda Yee

Amanda was in Egypt in the summer of 2010 participating in an intensive Arabic immersion program funded by the Critical Languages Scholarship.

Amanda (far right) and classmates standing with Hannah Fathy Rostom and the biogas generator he invented. Rostom installs the generator for others in his community "Garbage City". Hannah is part of a Coptic Christian community called the Zabbaleen, who have for the past 80 years made a living collecting Cairo's trash and recycling up to 80% as reusable materials.
