The 4th Annual Research Meets Activism Breakfast

Muhammad Ali Institute Director Enid Trucios-Haynes moderated the Anne Braden Institute Research Meets Activism Breakfast on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. This annual event brings together community members and activist from around the city to discuss topics affecting our society. The topic this year was Mass Criminalization and the guest speaker was notable author and activist Angela Davis, Professor Emerita, UC-Santa Cruz. The panelists for the discussion included Dr. Cherie Dawson-Edwards from the University of Louisville, Dr. John Marshall from Jefferson County Public Schools, and Shelton McElroy from Jefferson Community and Technical College. The Research Meets Activism Breakfast is a part of the annual Anne Braden Memorial Lecture.
