Workshops for Faculty

The University Writing Center hosts an annual faculty workshop to assist faculty in making the best possible use of this important campus resource. For the 2011-2012 school year, we will be hosting an event in the spring to demonstrate the new features, policies, and applications of the Virtual Writing Center.

Classroom Presentations about Writing Center Services

Our consultants can make brief presentations (5 to 10 minutes) about the services we offer to students.

In-Class Workshops for Students

Consultants can give the following workshops to your class: Getting Started; Revising; Copyediting/Proofreading; Documenting in MLA, APA, or Chicago Styles; Writing with Sources; Constructing an Effective Thesis Statement; and Writing the Literature Review.

Online Resources for Writers

We currently have virtual workshops on Preventing Plagiarism, Citing with MLA and APA, and Using Sources Effectively. In addition, we have a number of helpful handouts that can answer a variety of questions about academic writing.  To access our virtual workshops and handouts, please visit the following link: http://louisville.edu/writingcenter/resources-for-writers
