1st Annual Lead KY: University of Louisville

 

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) at UofL, UofL Women's Center and Lead Kentucky presents the 1st Annual Lead Ky: University of Louisville which will be held on Thursday November 1, 2018 with doors opening at 4:30pm and the program beginning at 5pm in the Swain Student Activities Center Multipurpose Room. 40 students were trained. 

Students attending learned from Kentucky politicians and leaders, participated in breakout sessions including topics on grassroots organizing, running for office and being a leader overall. Speakers provided concepts that students will think critically about and help to prepare our future leaders. Students enhanced and learned new concepts - skills that are needed to truly be successful.

Founded in 2013, Lead KY, a non-profit that ensures Kentucky’s college women are prepared, encouraged, and empowered to seek leadership positions on their campuses and, eventually, in their professional fields. In its fourth year, Lead Kentucky has empowered 50 campus ambassadors on over 16 campuses with 29 different majors.
