New Deadline for Ann T. Allen Endowed Scholarship for Student-Parents

The Ann T. Allen Endowed Scholarshipis for current University of Louisville undergraduate students and the annual amount to be awarded is approximately $1,000 to students who meet the criteria. New deadline for applications is Friday July 15, 2016.

 

After receiving her B.A. in History from Bryn Mawr College and Ph.D. from Columbia, Professor Allen came to UofL in 1972 to teach our first women’s history course. She was instrumental in establishing the department of Women’s and Gender Studies. Professor Allen is the author of four books and 30 articles and book chapters. Her many accomplishments include a Fulbright Teaching Grant in Berlin, a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship, and a UofL Award for Outstanding Scholarship, Research, and Creative Activity. In addition, she has been an outspoken advocate and dedicated volunteer serving on the Board of Directors of the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky. Professor Allen retired from the College of Arts and Sciences faculty and was named Professor Emerita in 2014.
