Chronology of Recent Childcare-related Meetings involving UofL Students, Faculty, and Staff

June 25, 2004:  College of Education and Human Development Dean Robert Felner  and staff  presented a child care proposal at the meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women meeting.
 
June 18, 2005:  UofL presented at a meeting of the Kentucky Legislature’s Subcommittee on Postsecondary Education Interim Joint Committee on Education.  Topics included a Policy Overview of On-Campus Childcare and Support for Low-Income Students; Presentations by Institutions Regarding On-Campus Childcare.

November 17, 2005: The Adult Commuter Center Evening Student Services (ACCESS Center) on Belknap Campus hosted a "Discussion on Child Care" for the UofL Debate Team.

March 1, 2006: The UofL Debate team presented an open forum on childcare for students.  The topic was, “The University of Louisville should not provide childcare facilities for students/faculty/staff.”

May 23, 2006: A “listening session” for students, staff, and faculty was hotsted by the UofL Women’s Center on Health Sciences Campus.

June 19-23, 2006:  Focus Groups to determine childcare needs for UofL students, staff, and faculty.
