UPDATE ON FEDERAL INVESTIGATION

There are no additional updates this week from committees formed in response to the federal investigation at the College of Education and Human Development.

International scholars talk about election, world issues

Scholars from Norway and China will reflect on their country's response to the presidential election and discuss their own areas of multicultural research during a forum, Thursday, Nov. 13, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. in Ekstrom Library, Chao Auditorium. Freedom Park makeover

Next Monday, Nov. 17, at 2:30 p.m., UofL and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will host a news conference to discuss details about the makeover of nearby Freedom Park. A media advisory will be sent out in advance of the event.

UofL scientist earns prestigious award

UofL professor of medicine Roberto Bolli is a winner of the American Heart Association's 2008 Distinguished Scientist Award. The award recognizes Bolli for his work on preventing heart damage during heart attacks. More information

Fight the flu from the comfort of your car

UofL Hospital will once again offer drive-through flu shots for the general public. The shot costs $25 and will be offered at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium today, Tuesday, Nov. 11, and Thursday, Nov. 13, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information or to download a registration form in advance, visit UofL Healthcare's website or call the flu shot hotline at 502-333-6999. Medicare patients should bring their card.

Pollution center to help with new energy conservation program

Legislation passed this year requires all school districts to enroll in the Kentucky Energy Efficiency Program for Schools (KEEPS) by 2010. Some schools in Kentucky are getting an early start and are already working with UofL's Kentucky Pollution Prevention Center. For more information, see our news story or call KPPC at 502-852-0965.
