Top HeadlinesStrategic plan program to be live on webPresident James Ramsey and other UofL officials will brief the business community on “The 2020 Plan,” the university’s strategic plan, and its need for their support at a Greater Louisville Inc. “Top Investor” event Thursday, Feb. 26. UofL will webcast the 90-minute event on its home page, louisville.edu, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Grawemeyer winners to give public talksRecipients of the 2009 Grawemeyer Awards will discuss their winning works and ideas at the University of Louisville and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary campuses March 3-12. The Grawemeyer prizes, five awards of $200,000 each, are given each year for outstanding ideas or works in music composition, world order, psychology, education and religion. UofL and the seminary jointly administer the religion award. No reservations or tickets are needed for the free public talks. For a complete schedule, see the Grawemeyer Awards site. Attending media should arrive at 8:45 a.m. Under the new Jefferson County Public Schools school assignment plan, Atkinson (located at 2800 Alford Ave.) will be UofL’s laboratory school and also a magnet school for teaching and learning excellence.
