embed sound playback with QuickTime
You can use QuickTime to playback sounds hidden in web pages.
Sounds in web pages
It's easy to <embed> a sound in a web page. But, your web browser needs to know how to handle it.
Windows
Web browsers (IE/Firefox/Mozilla) need to know what program to use to playback sounds. QuickTime may be a good choice.
You probably already have Quicktime installed, but if not, you can download it from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
To configure your QuickTime to play embedded WAV files. Here's how: 1. Close down your web browser 2. Open QuickTime 3. Click Edit, Preferences, QuickTime Preferences 4. Make sure the pull-down menu at the top is on Browser Plug-in 5. Click on the Mime Settings button 6. Expand Audio 7. Add a check mark to WAVE audio file 8. Click OK
Restart your web browser and go load the page with the 'embed' that should play back the audio. It "should" work.
