Centers and Institutes
Top-level domains may be made available only to Board of Trustees approved Centers and Institutes.
There is a process for Center and Institute approval with oversight provided by the university's Board of Trustees. As individuals involved in marketing and setting up web sites, the Office of Communications and Marketing may often be an early point of contact for individuals seeking this designation.
If you have a proposed center or institute but have not yet been through the approval process,
we can not call it a "Center" or "Institute" in any of our marketing materials or web URLs until the Board of Trustees vote is complete.
Faculty with inquiries about the process can find the forms at: http://louisville.edu/provost/centers-and-institutes/centers.pdf/view
Dr. Linda Shapiro in the Office of the Provost is the contact person. Faculty members looking for advice, best practices or for contact with faculty who have recently shepherded a center through this process are welcome to contact the Office of Research as well.
Options for research projects may be to request URL placement under the Office of Research site, or under your sponsoring school or department web space.
