Accessibility Compliance for UofL Webmasters
If you edit, publish, contribute or design any portion of the University of Louisville website, you should attend this training.
The Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning, the Office of Communication and Marketing and the Information Technology Web Team are conducting training that addresses universal design and standards, best practices in web development, the use of the UofL site-building tool and web accessibility compliance.
Studies have found that nearly 20 percent of the population have some kind of disability, including many types that make accessing the Internet more difficult. Higher education institutions have a responsibility to accommodate the varying abilities of their users. With the increasing use of online and distance education, web accessibility is becoming a high priority. This is particularly true in Kentucky as it is state law to have any public websites accessible.
