index of Alumni classnotes! New alumni Association president Ron Mazzoli Former Third District Congressman Romano L. Mazzoli 60L has been serving as the president of the University of Louisville Alumni Association since June 1997. He also presently serves the university by sitting on the Board of Overseers. Mazzoli earned his baccalaureate degree in business administration at the University of Notre Dame in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army before he began attending U of L School of Law. He served in the House of Representatives for 24 years before returning to Louisville to practice law with the firm of Stites and Harbison. He was recognized in 1994 by the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law as their Alumni Fellow. Since assuming the mantle of leadership of the Alumni Association, Mazzoli has presided over the Golden Alumni Reunion Luncheon, the Alumni Leadership Weekend, and the Homecoming 1997 activities. He also recently represented the interests of the alumni constituency in the search for a new athletic director.Alumni Service AwardsIn Service to the University Michael Goode 83AH Goode has served as a clinical instructor for the Radiologic Technology Program since 1992, teaching, scheduling clinical rotations, and consulting radiology units at University of Louisville Hospital. Doris Jean Yochim 53A, 61G Yochim taught elementary school in Jefferson County following graduation until retirement in 1983. Since retirement, she has served the Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association and numerous volunteer organizations. Mary Morrow 89B Chief financial officer for LCDB Enterprise Group, Morrow also has served on the College of Business and Public Administration Alumni Board of Directors. Currently, she is an at-large member of the alumni association board. Dr. Frederic F. Hatcher 61D Hatcher served in the U.S. Navy as a dentist from 196163. He retired as a Captain from the Naval Reserves in 1988. A member of the American Dental Association, Hatcher also serves on the School of Dentistrys Alumni Board of Governors and worker with an independent child and family practice, Pickelsimer has been involved with Kent School of Social Work alumni boards and committees since graduation. She also is the director of the Fern Creek/Highview United Ministries. Bonnie Kittinger 88L An attorney in private practice in Lexington, Kittinger concentrates on employment law, administrative law, and commercial litigation. She is a member of the Central Kentucky Alumni Club. Jeff Melton 89N A registered nurse at Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison, Indiana, Melton was School of Nursing class president his senior year and has maintained close ties with the school through serving on the Alumni Board of Governors and other volunteer efforts. Dr. Will Ward, Jr. 54M A local physician, Ward has been interested in serving theneedy since he was a medical student. His services have included giving charity care at the Mission House and co-founding the Greater Louisville Organization for Health Clinic. Steven Crews 75MU Crews has taught piano and jazz studies in Louisville since 1978. In 1990, he joined the School of Music faculty. He is a former president of the School of Music Alumni Association. Steven P. Bryant 79S, 83G A former project engineer and project manager at Pfeiffer Engineering in Louisville, where he also directed the firms sales and marketing, Bryant currently works with Woolpert LLP full-service architectural engineering firm. He has served on the Speed Alumni Board of Governors and currently serves on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Jamie Weatherly '92A The Young Alumni Association recipient, Weatherly is a staff member at Maryhurst, where she works with young women with behavioral and emotional problems.
