U of L assistant track coach Doug Sharp chases Olympic dream
It was truly a happy new year for Doug Sharp, the 31-year-old U of L coach who along with three teammates competed in the four-man bobsled event at the U.S. trials in Park City, Utah. UofL Magazine's winter issue went to press before Sharp's team found out whether or not it had secured a berth on the U.S. Olympic Team. On Dec. 30, they found out they had qualified to be one of the two U.S. bobsled teams to compete in the Olympics. See how they got there.
