1950s David H. Neustadt MD, PSC 50M recieved the 1997 Distinguished Rheumatologist Award, the highest honor given by the American College of Rheumatology. He has practiced and taught rheumatology for 43 years. Charles R. Greenwell 56A is a poet and lives in Montomery, Alabama. 1960s Judith Dolt 61E, 75G was named the November 1997 winner of the ExCel Award, given by the Jefferson County Public Schools for excellence in classroom and educational leadership. She is a primary teacher at Zachary Taylor Elementary School in Louisville.Floyd M. Vincent, Jr. 63B has been named president of the Rotary Club of St. Matthews. He is director of information services for the Louisville Gas and Electric Company. Allan M. Steinburg 64A, 67G recieved the 1997 Mayors Good Neighbor Award for Louisvilles First Ward. He serves as vice president of the Louisville International Cultural Center at Spalding University and co-founded the Louisville Historical League. Michael N. Harreld 66A, 69L has been elected chair of the board of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce for 1997-98. He is president and CEO of PNC Bank, Kentucky. Charles W. Matthews III 66A, 69L has been named Special Agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigations field office in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has served the FBI since 1969. 1970sRobert Brown 71A, 73G, 74L, 74G recently recieved a doctoral degree from Cambridge University in England. He was also recently admitted as a UK solicitor and had two books published by Sweet & Maxwell on commercial and intellectual property laws of East Asia. Lanny R. Copeland MD 71M has been voted president-elect of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He serves as vice president of primary care development at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Marty E. Tittlebaum PhD 71S, 72G, 79G has been named the Edward G. Schleider Chaired Professor for Urban Waste Management and Research at the University of New Orleans. Nicholas N. King 73L recently served as a guest lecturer in comparative law at the law schools of Johannes Gutenburg Univesity in Mainz, Germany, the Free University in Berlin, Germany, and the University of Turki in Finland. Anthony W. Santamassino 73A has been appointed chief executive officer of Stokers Tenderex Farms, Inc., a corporation that sells and services equipment and food products to the restaurant and convenience store industry throughout Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. Sara Morsey 74A, 79G, 88G recently received the Memphis Theatre Award for Excellence as a Leading Actress in a Drama for her performance in Edward Albees Three Tall Women, given by Memphis Magazine and the Memphis Arts Council. She is a free-lance actor and associate artist with the Hippodrome State Theatre in Gainesville, Florida. Sherman L. Bush 75A, 77G was recently voted president-elect of the Kentucky Association of Cooperative Education and Career Employment. He serves as career planning/placement coordinator at Jefferson Community College. Anita U. Clemons 75S, 75AH was recently named vice president of the Private Bank at PNC Bank Corp., headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has served PNC Bank for four years. Terry H. Copeland Jaeger EdD 75K has been in private practice since 1994 and teaches social work courses at the University of West Florida. Pamela M. Greenwell 75L has been named a partner in the law firm of Seiller & Handmaker LLP. She continues to practice in the areas of real estate and corporate law. Hon. Stephen P. Ryan 76A, 81L was recently appointed Jefferson Circuit Judge. He previously served as Jefferson District Judge. Charles H. Spencer 78S has been appointed as energy engineer for Enertech, a new for-profit subsidieary of the Louisville Gas and Electric Company. He and his wife, Karla H. Spencer 83B, 89G, recently expanded their family with the birth of Madison Hope in April 1997. Dana Allen 79B has been promoted to assistant director of credit and financial services for the Brown-Forman Corporation. She joined the company in 1981. Maj. Steven M. Conrad 79SA, 84G has been promoted to Major witht the Louisville Police Department and was named Commander of the Office of Community Policing. He is a 17-year veteran of the Louisville Division of Police. Michael A. Tharp 79S, 79G has joined RELTEC Telecommunications as a senior engineering analyst. He previously worked for Texas Instruments and is the proud father of a new baby boy, Chase Trenton, and a seven year-old son, Grant Tharp. 1980sRichard W. Everett 80B recently earned the Certified Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) designation, a certification earned by less than five percent fo the manufacturing and materials management professionals nationwide. He currently services as materials coordinator/production control manager for United Catalysts Inc., in Louisville. Leisa M. Speer 80A, 84G has been named superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of Louisville. She is a former Catholic school teacher and principal, and is the first lay person to serve as superintendent. Terrell A. Bobrow 81B has been named senior business analyst of the Brown-Forman corporations Business Planning and Analysis Group. She has served the company since 1983. Kenneth Carter 81B has been promoted to vice president, director fo ethnic marketing, for the Brown-Forman Corporations North American Group Spirits Brands Company. He joined the company in 1982. David E. Irigoyen 81B was recently elected vice president of the Hospital Management Forum of Northeastern Pennsylvania. He serves as administrative director of the divisions of surgery, OB/GYN, and pediatrics for the Geisinger Healthcare System. Frank B. Janoski 82L has been elected to the board of the Mental Health Association of Greater St. Louis. He is a partner in the law firm of Thompson Coburn in its St. Louis office. Adrienne A. Berry 83L was recently voted national president-elect of the Federal Bar Association. She has held numerous FBA office and currently works for the law firm of Segal, Isenberg, Sales, Stewart, Cutler & Tillman in Louisville. Bradley J. Rapinski 83ASC, 88S recently passed the Certified Purchasing Manager exam and received a management award for Stretch Performance for Commodity and Global Leadership. He is design productivity engineer in the global electronic sourcing department of General Electric Medical Systems in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. S. Denise Jerome 86A has joined Woolpert LLP as industrial marketing manager in the firms Louisville office. Donald T. Grimes 86B has been promoted to vice president, corporate development, with the Brown-Forman Corporation. He joined the company in 1991. Jim T. McFee, Jr. 86S has been promoted to senior process manager-maintenace at International Paper Companys Texarkana Mill. He worked for 10 years in the Navy as a mechanical foreman and power plan operator. Anita Netherland 89S has joined Comarco Systems, Inc. as environmental group leader and senior chemical engineer. She previously worked for Hughes Naval Systems as environmental and safety program manager. Benham Jones Sims III 89L has been appointed Jefferson District Court judge. He previously served as assistant Jefferson County attorney. Maria Stumler 89B has been appointed international travel consultant for the Brown-Forman Corporation. She has worked in the travel industry for six years. Jennifer Davis Toombs 89b, 92B has been appointed senior financial analyst with the Brown-Forman Corporation. She most recently worked as a development analyst for Vencor, Inc. 1990sJay Raleigh Jeffrey MD 90M recently recieved certification with the American Board of Surgery. He is a surgeon in practice at Batesville Surgery Specialties in Batesville, Arkansas. Margaret L. Eckerle 91G was the October 1997 winner of the ExCel Award, given by the Jefferson County Public Schools for excellence in classroom and educational leadership. She is a primary teacher at Coleridge Taylor Elementary School. Robert Cotton Thurmond 92G has been named senior research consultant at Quality Communications Inc. in the companys Knowledge Creation Group. He previously served as director of U of Ls Telecommunications Research Center. Richard K. Kessler 92G recently received a doctoral degree in environmental biology from the University of Louisville. He is assistant professor biology at Campbellsville University in Kentucky. Kimberly J. Pierson 93A has joined the law firm of Reed Smith Shaw & McClay LLP in its Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. She received her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1997. Denise M. Smith 93A has joined the law firm of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP in its Cincinnati, Ohio office. She previously worked for the law firm of Pedley, Zielke, Gordinier, Olt & Pence. Renita M. Edwards 96A has been elected national vice president for development of the National Young Democrats of America. Lori A. Lodge-Lane 96L has joined the law firm of Seiller & Handmaker LLP and will concentrate her practice in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial transactions. Dr. Samuel Robinson AD is the recipient of the Lovejoy Award given by the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks of the World. He is president and founder of the Lincoln Foundation. |
