Fighting AIDS in Honduras
Since 2002 Dacia Ramirez, a 1996 U of L graduate, has worked with CARE International as a gerente alcombatsida--a project coordinator in the alliance to combat AIDS in Honduras. She supervises health-care providers in small villages and helps recruit and train volunteers to educate their neighbors about HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
