The mission of the Office of Community Engagement is to facilitate the use of university resources to support existing partnerships and engage new partners to contribute to the educational, social, and economic progress of the community, region, and state.  The office is responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and advancing university-wide community engagement.  The unit contributes to and supports the diversity outreach initiatives of the university.

The Office of Community Engagement builds effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external constituents to advance the mutual needs of the community and the University.  The office is responsible for developing a process to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new university/community partnerships.

Strategic Plan

UofL's new strategic plan, Vision 2020, sets forth the goal for the university to become a "national model" for its community engagement and for serving as a transforming agent in the life of our community, the Commonwealth, the nation, and the world.
