The mission of the Office of External Affairs is to facilitate the use of university resources to support existing partnerships and engage new partners to contribute to the educational, social, and economic progress of the community, region, and state.  The office is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and advancing university-wide community engagement.  The unit will contribute to and support the diversity outreach initiatives of the university.

External Affairs will build effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external constituents to advance the mutual needs of the community and the University.  External Affairs shall be responsible for developing a process to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new university/community partnerships.
