Only authorized personnel wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment, such as respirators and disposable coveralls, may enter. Do not enter any area if you see plastic-flapped doors and warning signs that say DANGER ASBESTOS or other warnings. A barrier tape with the word DANGER across a doorway may be all that exists in an area in the early stages of cleanup. If it is vital to retrieve any type of item from an area in containment, you must have your supervisor call the Department of Environmental Health and Safety at 852-6670. Under certain circumstances DEHS MAY be able to retrieve critical items. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
