Matthews interviewed U.S. Senate candidate Jack Conway and stretched the theme of the show by interviewing 3rd district congressional candidate John Yarmuth. He also talked to students about the issues.

Earlier in the day, Matthews discussed politics with about 100 students in Chao Auditorium.

"This was an exciting day and an exciting way to showcase the University of Louisville and our politically engaged students," said university spokesman Mark Hebert.

UofL political science professor Jasmine Farrier, law student Nicole Kersting and Kentucky Republican Party Chairman Steve Robertson also appeared on the show.
