UofL’s men’s and women’s golf teams took honors for achieving the top team grade point averages at the Red and Black Honors Banquet and Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony Sunday, March 4, at the Brown and Williamson Club.

A record 290 athletes, spirit squad members and team managers were recognized for maintaining at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.

President James Ramsey praised the athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the playing field, calling them ambassadors for the university.

The outstanding senior awards, which recognize the two senior athletes who have earned the highest gpa during their careers at UofL, were soccer players Caitlin Beck and Jimmy Crick.

Athletic officials, faculty and academic mentors joined the athletes for the event.
