Foreign films screened in campus film festivals

People with a penchant for going to foreign movies will have at least two film series at UofL to draw from this semester.

Foreign films screened in campus film festivals

"Goodbye First Love" is part of both the French Film Festival and the International Film Festival.

The French Film Festival (FFF) starts Jan. 31 and runs through March 1. The International Film Festival (IFF) runs Feb. 12–Feb. 14.

Admission is free and open to the public. There will be discussion about the film after some screenings.

Here’s the combined schedule:

  • “The Princess of Montpensier”: Thursday, Jan.31, 5 p.m., (discussion afterward), and 8 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 1, 2 p.m. Floyd Theatre, Student Activities Center, Belknap Campus. FFF.
  • “Le Havre”: Thursday, Feb. 7, 5 p.m., (discussion afterward), and 8 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 8, 5 p.m. Floyd Theatre, Student Activities Center, Belknap Campus. FFF.
  • “Picnic at Hanging Rock”: Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2 p.m., (discussion afterward) Chao Auditorium, Belknap Campus. In English. IFF.
  • “Pather Panchali”: Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1 p.m., (discussion afterward) Shumaker Research Building, Belknap Campus. IFF.
  • “Goodbye First Love”: Thursday, Feb. 14, 5 p.m., (discussion afterward), and 8 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 15, 2 p.m. Floyd Theatre, Student Activities Center, Belknap Campus. FFF.
  • “Hors Satan”: Thursday, Feb. 21, 5 p.m., (discussion afterward), and 8 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 22, 2 p.m. Floyd Theatre, Student Activities Center, Belknap Campus. FFF and IFF.
  • “Tomboy”: Thursday, Feb. 28, 5 p.m., (discussion afterward), and 8 p.m.; Friday, March 1, 2 p.m. Floyd Theatre, Student Activities Center, Belknap Campus. FFF.
