Dental school gives free services in Greenup County
More than 130 UofL School of Dentistry faculty, residents, students and staff helped to address oral health needs of Kentuckians who can’t afford or easily access dental care June 22 and 23 in Greenup County.
They gave free dental cleanings, fillings and extractions, and also adjusted and repaired dentures. UofL worked with Remote Area Medical (RAM) missions to provide the services. The school has volunteered with the group over the last five years to serve residents in eastern and southern Kentucky, including Pikeville, Somerset, Knott County, Letcher County and Harlan County.
RAM is a nonprofit organization that serves people in rural areas of the United States and around the world. This RAM effort also included free medical and vision care.
