The Cardinal Singers, a choral ensemble of the University of Louisville School of Music, are champions of the Yeosu International Choir Competition in Yeosu, Korea, and end their week of competition with a total of six awards.
Besides being named Grand Prix round winners, they also placed first in the categories of Mixed Choir and Sacred Music and second in Pop/Jazz and Spiritual/Folk. Conductor Kent Hatteberg won the Best Conductor Award.
“What a joy it was to represent the United States and the university at such a high level.
And what a thrill it has been to contribute to the Year of the Cardinal!” singer Nick Peak wrote on his Cardinal Singer Asia blog.
