Melea East BIO

Melea East, B.B.A., J.D., joined the Office of Technology Transfer as Assistant Director in the fall of 2001, and now serves as the Deputy Director of the OTT.  Originally from Louisville, Kentucky she earned her B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Kentucky, graduating summa cum laude, and her J.D. from the University of Louisville.  Prior to joining the OTT, she worked for a medical supplies distributor and as an associate at Frost Brown Todd, PLLC where her practice focused on corporate intellectual property.  Ms. East has presented twice at the national Association of University and Technology Managers, and at the joint AUTM/Licensing Executive Society annual meeting.  She also proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisville Ballet.

Primary Responsibility Areas:
OTT Management; Complete Oversight of Contract and Compliance Unit; Economic Development; Case Management for Belknap Campus (other than Speed School); Speed School and Medical Campus Backup Support
