Auditions

Audition for Fall Plays

 

Auditions will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 25 and 26, 7-9

p.m. at the Thrust Theatre, 2314 S. Floyd St.  Roles are available for

all ages, open to gender and ethnicity.

 

Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27, beginning at 7 p.m.

 

Actors may audition for one or both of the fall plays, “Come Down

Burnin’” and “As You Like It.”

 

“Come Down Burnin’” by Kia Corthron, an African American Theatre

Program production directed by Nefertiti Burton, will be performed

Sept.

30 – Oct. 4. Roles are open for an African-American woman in her

early

30s, a girl of about nine years old and a boy of about six years old.

Rehearsals begin Aug. 28.

 

Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” directed by Rinda Frye, will be

performed Nov. 18-22.  Actors should read the play in advance and come

prepared to speak 14-20 lines of a monologue (memorization optional)

and

to interact creatively with others during cold readings. Rehearsals

will

begin on September 28.
