Foreign Language Placement
Visit the Modern Languages website for information on taking a French, Spanish, German, or Russian Placement Exam. Testing Services is no longer responsible for these exams. If you need additional information, you may contact the Classical & Modern Languages Department at 502-852-6686.
Foreign Language Placement Tests are available to students who have high school study in a foreign language. Those students having background in a foreign language through other means should contact the Classical and Modern Language Department (852-6686) before registering to take any of the Foreign Language Placement tests. You may be eligible to receive credit for any course out of which you place. All results are subject to departmental approval and policies. Further information on those policies can be found in the undergraduate catalog.
You can receive 12 hours of CLEP credit for a passing score in French, German or Spanish. Please visit the CLEP information page for additional information.
Latin
Testing Services does offer a pencil/paper placement exam in Latin. Registration for this placement is now online. Please click here to access. The fee for the Latin placement is $43 and required upon registration.
