Graduating Seniors

Students who will be studying abroad within their last 30 hours need to complete some additional steps, as well as understand the following:

  1. Transcripts take 8-10 weeks to arrive at the Office of Study Abroad & International Travel.
  2. If you took classes other than those you had pre-approved, processing will take additional time (up to three months).
  3. If you study abroad during the Fall, you may be able to walk for graduation in May.
  4. If you study abroad during the Spring, you may be able to walk for graduation in August, but it may be later.

You will need to apply for a residency waiver to be away for part of your last 30 hours, and we recommend that you get a final degree check before you depart. Every year we have a large number of seniors who study abroad successfully. Our office just wants to make sure you are informed of these important additional requirements.
