Students who will be studying abroad within their last 30 hours need to complete some additional steps, as well as understand the following:
- Transcripts take 8-10 weeks to arrive at the Office of Study Abroad & International Travel.
- If you took classes other than those you had pre-approved, processing will take additional time (up to three months).
- If you study abroad during the Fall, you may be able to walk for graduation in May.
- If you study abroad during the Spring, you may be able to walk for graduation in August, but it may be later.
You will need to apply for a residency waiver to be away for part of your last 30 hours, and we recommend that you get a final degree check before you depart. Every year we have a large number of seniors who study abroad successfully. Our office just wants to make sure you are informed of these important additional requirements.
