Steps to Studying Abroad
Step 1: Visit the Office of Study Abroad and International Travel and obtain general information from a Peer Ambassador during Walk-in Advising Hours. Come as many times as you want/need!
Step 2: Have an open mind! With so many countries to choose from, consider what classes you need, your budget, and language requirements to narrow down your program options.
Step 3: Schedule an appointment with a Study Abroad Advisor by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org once you have narrowed you choices or made a final decision.
Step 4: Obtain paperwork from a Study Abroad Advisor, most importantly the course equivalency form and budget.
Step 5: Meet with appropriate department contacts (you will receive their contact information from your study abroad advisor) and your academic advisor to approve classes and with Financial Aid to complete budget forms.
Step 6: Apply to your study abroad program online and wait for an acceptance email!
Step 7: Apply for a passport and visa (if needed). Passports can take 4-6 weeks to arrive. Your program provider will assist you in obtaining a visa.
Step 8: Turn in ALL completed paperwork to the Office of Study Abroad and International Travel.
Step 9: Attend the mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation the term before you study abroad.
Step 10: Go Abroad and have the experience of a lifetime!
