Description: How Can We Best Serve?: Engaging Our Immigrant & Refugee Community
Join us for the first in a series of community engagement workshops and trainings designed to educate UofL students about our community's needs and social justice issues, and to provide students with a better understanding of how they can effectively engage with the community through direct service.
This program is for UofL students who are interested in volunteering with our immigrant and refugee community or who want to learn more about this community. Sessions will cover Literacy, Health, and Legal Issues. Presenters include staff from Americana, Backside Learning Center at Churchill Downs, JCPS: English as Second Language Office and the Newcomer Academy .
When: Saturday, November 7th at 10:30-3:00 pm
Where: Student Activities Center, Floyd Theater

Description: Chili Cook-off, is to raise money for the make-a-wish foundation, and help to grant a child's wish! Entry tickets are $5, and all proceedes go directly to the make-a-wish foundation. There will be lots of chili, games, baskets, raffles, and more!

On Saturday, November 7th, the Cards Ice Hockey team will be having a Silent Auction during its game against Eastern Kentucky University.
The game and auction starts at 6pm at Alpine Arena (1825 Gardiner Lane). Auction prizes include sports picture frames of Tiger Woods, Muhammad Ali, Sidney Crosby, The Miracle on Ice Team, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Please come out to support your Cards! Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students with ID.
