UofL Career Development Center - Graduate Career Coach (Employer Engagement)

The Career Development Center must support the mission, academic programs and advancement of the institution. Within this context, the primary purpose of the Career Development Center is to assist students and alumni in developing, evaluating, and/or implementing career, education and employment decisions.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Graduate Career Coach you will be responsible for the following:

Employer Relations (25%)

  • Manage employer registration and job posting approvals with the Employer Engagement Coordinator
  • Plan and implement all aspects of monthly Cardinal Career Treks to businesses in the Louisville area. Work in collaboration with the Employer Engagement team
  • Aid Employer Engagement Team with organization and scheduling information sessions for employers
  • Assistant in one-on-one contact with current and prospective employers to meet recruiting needs
  • Assist Associate Director with Employer programming

 

Career Advising (25%)

  • Counsel students about career options, career decision making, professional development, networking, job search strategies, and interviewing skills
  • Support Career Peers with weekly drop-in Career Advising and Rapid Resume Review sessions
  • Help with communication efforts aimed towards graduates who are in the job search process

 

Campus Programming, Presentations and Outreach (40%)

  • Assist in Career Fair management alongside the Employer Engagement Coordinator
  • Create and execute a strategic marketing plan regarding CDC services offered to current students and graduates
  • Assist Employer Engagement Coordinator with campus programming
  • Present to student groups, classes, organization and campus partners

 

 

Internal Career Center Committee Engagement (10%)

  • Serve as a member of the Professional Development and Marketing Committees.  
  • Attend weekly staff meetings

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a Graduate School program
  • Must be committed to working with students and employers
  • Must have a passion for working on event creation and implementation
  • Must have strong interest in working with marketing and social media efforts
