Student Affairs Student Advisory Council

student group

General Information

Student volunteers are needed to serve on the student advisory listserv. The purpose of the listserv is to 1) discuss important student issues, 2) provide another avenue for students to interact with senior administration, and 3) provide the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) and the Student Government Association (SGA) additional avenues to gain student opinion rapidly on issues affecting students. This project is hosted by both the VPSA and SGA.

How It Works

The VPSA will occasionally email students on the listserv requesting their opinion or comments on different subjects. Students respond to the list. The name of the group is Student Affairs Student Advisory Council (SASAC). All student classifications (Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate and Professional students) are welcome. Participants need not be actively involved on campus. It is more important students be interested in providing their honest and candid opinion and be active email and internet users.

How To Join and Participate

To become a member of the Student Advisory Council simply enter your full email address in the box below and Click on the "Press To Join the SASAC Listserv" button. That's it. If successful you will receive a confirmation email from the listserv.

Requirements

  • Must be a student, have a UofL email account, and regularly check that email account.
  • Must be willing to help the VPSA and SGA by providing your honest and candid feedback on discussion items.
  • Be willing to serve at least the full semester, ideally a full academic year.

Expectations

Very little email traffic is expected. However, there will be times multiple emails and responses will dominate the list. Participants may leave the list at anytime, although participants are requested to serve on the discussion list for the full academic year. It is also asked that participants respectfully articulate their candid point of view.

Lunch

Periodically the VPSA and SGA will treat the group to a special lunch
