Housing and Residence Life - Teaching and Administrative

 

Position:  Graduate Assistant for Teaching and Administrative

 

Teaching

  • Attend ECPY 355 class sessions
  • Prepare course materials
  • After 1st semester of observation, take on full responsibility for some class sessions
  • Track attendance

 

Administrative Assistance

  • Prepare conference and other presentation packets
  • Work with student groups for reservations, coordinating activities, like charity drives
  • Coordinate response to U.S. Census Bureau requests
  • Monitor hall programming evaluations and create report for Annual Report
  • Responsible for complete collection of required staff paperwork
  • Schedule semesterly drug sweeps
  • Coordinate graduate staff selection process (schedule interviews and maintain email connection)
  • Attend Southern Placement Exchange to assist with managing Message Center
  • Coordinate assessment projects

 

Resident Assistant Selection

  • Serve as member of planning team for selection process
  • Be available to assist with interviews on the weekend
  • Prepare Resident Assistant interview packets, questions and activities
  • Lead mandatory candidate reception

 

Other

  • Submit program proposal for professional conference once per semester
  • Present at Resident Assistant training

 

Benefits:

  • Full-time tuition remission for fall and spring
  • $1020 stipend per month for ten months
  • Individual health insurance
  • A live-on option is available where a one or two bedroom apartment (based on availability) is provided and a stipend of $620/month for ten months


Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled with in-state status in graduate program at UofL
  • Preferably enrolled in the College Student Personnel and Higher Education
  • Strong organization, interpersonal communication, writing and leadership skills
  • Flexible work hours
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Should possess and have demonstrated past leadership experience
  • Strong desire to work with undergraduate students
  • Knowledge of computer software an asset
