Cebu, Philippines International Service Learning Trip - December 2009

The University of Louisville International Service Learning Program has begun planning a December trip to Cebu, Philippines.

Up to 15 students will be able to sign up as part of their academic program to participate in the inaugural trip to Asia. So far the Medical and Dental School as well as Communication and Education have agreed to offer a credit course in conjunction with the trip.

The trip is scheduled for December 10-21, 2009. The tentative cost is anticipated to be between $3,500 and $4,500 - based on the enrollment status of individual academic programs. This cost covers air travel, accommodations and most meals while in Cebu.

The Asia program is modeled after the very successful Belize program which pulls together students from various academic programs. The Belize students design projects as part of their academic program and participate in an interdisciplinary group  project.
