A message from President Jim Ramsey & Provost Shirley Willihnganz
Dear Colleagues:
At this time of economic crisis in America, the University of Louisville must do our part to lead in the community’s recovery.
Central to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is renewable energy research and green job creation, a renewed commitment to scientific research, establishing the foundation for transformation of America’s healthcare system, significant investment in health information technology, assistance in pursuing postsecondary education, support for those hurt by the economy, and revitalizing our underserved neighborhoods.
Virtually every component of the “Stimulus” plan is aligned with our mission at UofL. Action is inherent in our promise to be a premier, nationally recognized metropolitan research university with a commitment to the intellectual, cultural, and economic development of our diverse communities and citizens.
Today we invite every member of the campus community to be a part of the effort.
UofL has crafted a strategy to capitalize on the opportunities in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This special section of UofL's Website outlines our strategy to capitalize on the opportunities in the legislation and for you to offer your input.
UofL will work in partnership with State and Metro Louisville Government and Kentucky’s Congressional Delegation to seek their support for our work.
Out of this crisis comes great opportunity for UofL to prove how very vital a premier metropolitan research university is to driving economic growth and prosperity. We welcome you to become part of this important work.
